How to add reservations to Google Maps
You can add reservations to Google Maps for free with a booking link in your Google Business Profile: a guest taps it in Maps and your booking page opens. With Booklio.ai every venue has a booking page at its own address, such as yourvenue.booklio.ai/rezervace, and the same link works on Instagram and in a QR code on the table.
Two ways to take bookings from Google Maps
According to Google’s help, a Business Profile can include links for actions such as booking a table or ordering food. The link takes guests to a website where they complete the booking. The other option is booking through a provider Google works with; your profile shows the providers available in your country under Bookings.
Bookings in a Google Business Profile
| Option | How it works | Price | What you need |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your own booking link | The guest taps the booking link in your profile and your booking page opens. | free | a Google Business Profile and a booking page, such as Booklio’s |
| Booking through a provider | The booking is handled by a provider you connect to your profile under Bookings. | the provider may charge a fee | a provider Google offers in your country |
Steps: a booking link in your Business Profile
- Get your booking page address. In Booklio it’s your address with /rezervace at the end, such as yourvenue.booklio.ai/rezervace. The page carries your venue’s logo and contact details, and guests book on it in Czech, English or German.
- Go to your Business Profile. Sign in with the Google account that manages the profile and open it, for example through business.google.com.
- Pick the type of action. In Google Search, select Booking. In Google Maps, select Edit profile and the type of action you’re adding a link to.
- Add the link. Select Add link, or Add another link if you already have one. Enter your booking page address and select Save.
- Set a preferred link. If your profile has several booking links, set yours as the preferred link. It then appears first, marked as preferred by the business.
If the link doesn’t show up straight away
The exact name of the option varies with the type of business and the version of Google, and Google sometimes reviews profile changes before they go live. According to the help page, booking links can’t be managed through the Business Profile API or by uploading a spreadsheet, only in the profile itself. The steps may change; Google’s help always applies.
An old link you no longer want in your profile
According to Google’s help, links can also appear in a profile automatically, from third-party partners or from Google’s automated data. If a link to a system you no longer use is still there, for example after Quandoo closed, remove that provider under Bookings: in Google Search directly, in Google Maps via Edit profile.
The provider has to remove the link within 5 days of the request. If it doesn’t, the help page says you can report a policy violation.
How many guests come from Maps
In Booklio’s statistics every booking has a source: Google search, Google profile and Maps, Seznam, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, AI search, the QR code on the table and partners. So you see how many bookings your Google Business Profile brought in.
Put the same booking page link on Instagram, Facebook and in a QR code on the table or a flyer; more in Bookings from Instagram and Facebook. If you don’t have a website, the booking page is all you need.
