Quandoo is closing: how to switch to a free booking system

What Quandoo announced, and when

Quandoo announced that it would close in a planned and orderly way. Its website now carries only a notice that the platform is no longer available and a contact for questions about bookings and loyalty payouts. According to Verdict Food Service, citing The Straits Times, the closure covers every market where Quandoo is active, including Australia, Switzerland and Italy.

According to Verdict Food Service, Quandoo’s support team helps venues export their data until the final shutdown. Quandoo doesn’t publish the export process, so ask its support directly, and do it soon.

What to do now

1. Ask for a data export. Download your booking history and guest contacts while Quandoo still answers, by 31 December 2026 at the latest. Your venue is responsible for guest data as the controller, so keep it on your side.
2. Remove Quandoo from your website. A Quandoo button or form on your site now leads nowhere, and a guest who wants to book simply leaves.
3. Fix your booking links. In your Google Business Profile, on Instagram and Facebook, and in QR codes on tables or flyers.
4. Tell your staff where bookings come in now. Until you have a new system, staff write down phone bookings by hand. It’s better to have the new system running before the December rush.

What a Quandoo replacement should do

Quandoo was a booking platform with its own website and app for guests. Its replacement doesn’t have to be another platform: a reservation system on your own website and in your Google Business Profile is enough. When you compare options, ask about these things first:

• Price and commission. Is there a monthly plan, a fee per guest, or nothing? Prices of Czech systems with sources are in Free restaurant reservation system: 2026 price comparison.
• Free times based on your real tables. The form should only offer times when the group actually fits, or you’ll end up declining bookings afterwards.
• Confirmation. Routine requests should confirm themselves, while staff decide on the exceptions.
• Messages to guests. A confirmation and reminder by text or email, with a cancel link so the table frees up.
• A reservation book for staff. The day’s overview and a table plan on an iPad or phone behind the bar, and quick entry of phone bookings.
• Guest data. Where it’s stored, who the controller is and whether you get it back when you leave.

Switching to Booklio step by step

1. Sign up. On the Get Booklio for free page, enter your venue name, email and website address, then confirm your email. No card needed.
2. Booklio sets itself up. Within a few minutes you have the admin at your own address, such as yourvenue.booklio.ai.
3. The guide in the admin. Opening hours, spaces and tables in about 5 minutes. Take a photo of your floor plan, build it from parts or let AI suggest one.
4. The code on your website. Swap the Quandoo code for two lines of Booklio code. Guides for WordPress, Webnode, Wix and your own site are on How to embed the widget.
5. The link in your Google Business Profile. Add a link to your Booklio booking page, such as yourvenue.booklio.ai/rezervace. The same link works on Instagram and in a QR code.
6. Bookings you already have. Enter them in the admin through New booking.
