What a bar needs from bookings

• Staff have no time for the phone. In the evening they’re pulling pints and mixing drinks; bookings have to be handled between two orders.
• Room for walk-ins. On a Friday night the website mustn’t give away every table.
• Late hours. A booking for 1 am belongs to the previous evening, not the next day.
• Bar seats and tables. Seats at the bar, tables in the room and maybe a terrace each have their own rules.
• Regulars. Events need inviting the people who actually want to come.

How Booklio handles it

• An iPad behind the bar that rings. The admin goes on the iPad home screen like an app. A new booking rings and the notification pops up even on the lock screen. From 7 pm to 7 am it switches to night mode by itself.
• One-tap confirmation. Staff confirm or decline an exception in one or two taps. With auto-confirm on, routine requests confirm themselves and get a table.
• “We’re full” with another time. Instead of a plain decline, the guest gets up to 6 free times that day and accepts one in a single tap.
• Online capacity at peak times. The website offers 50 to 100% of tables and holds the rest for walk-ins.
• Several spaces, different opening hours. The bar, the room and the terrace, each with its own rules. Late-night times belong to the previous day.
• Events and invitations. Enter an event once and it’s on your website within two minutes, with structured data for search engines. Invitations go to regulars by email and text, with one-tap unsubscribe.
• Gift cards. Vouchers and a top-up card, ordered on your website, picked up at the bar or sent by post, paid with a QR code.
• Reviews from real guests. The QR code on the table goes straight to your Google review form, and staff see which table a review most likely came from.

The bottle table paid upfront (a booth with a bottle from your drinks list, paid by card) is ready and waiting for payments to be switched on. Every feature is on the Features page.

The bar at James Dean Prague

At James Dean Prague the Bar is open until 4 am and shares the ground-floor tables with the restaurant, so their bookings are checked against each other table by table. There are 17 tables downstairs. The staff admin runs on an iPad behind the bar.

What it costs and how to start

Booklio is free: the core and all 9 add-ons for CZK 0 a month, with no charge per booking or table. You pay only for text messages to guests (CZK 3) and drafts by Claude (CZK 3), excl. VAT, as you use them. Emails to guests and bookings through AI assistants are free. For now prices are in CZK. The details are on the pricing page.

Signing up takes a few minutes and needs no card. In the admin guide you set your opening hours, spaces and tables in about 5 minutes, and you embed the booking widget on your website with two lines of code. Without a website, a link to the standalone booking page is enough.
